Genova: the Porto Antico, the fortifications on the surrounding hilltops, the alley maze of the medieval town, the delegations surprisingly filled of their own villas, palaces and museums.
The town centre embraces the small, secluded gulf that is the reason why Genova has been inhabited since pre-historic times.
The magnificence of one of the most powerful cities in medieval mediterranean culture is easily found in the Renaissance and Baroque glory of the Palazzi dei Rolli.
The modern counterpoint of the Acquario and the renewed opera theatre Carlo Felice completes the breathtaking picture.
